Sup Beautiful People!
Can you believe our first month back at school is already almost over? Putting aside all the midterms and the monsoon weather, we have totally enjoyed partying with your friendly faces these past three weeks and look forward to seeing them all throughout this upcoming weekend to kick off October.
Alright, here we go!
1. Family Dinner: This Wednesday at Warren Towers Dining Hall. Come meet us by the couches just past the security booth at 6:30 pm to enjoy some good food with awesome friends.
2. Intramurals: The Little Brown Filipino Warriors strike twice this week. Intramural volleyball will play their season-opener on Wednesday at 9 pm in Fitrec. Our flag football team continues its quest to remain undefeated on Thursday at 7:30 pm at Nickerson Field.
Interested in playing? Showing support? Shoot an e-mail at Capt. Juan Castro at jucastro@bu.edu.
3. International Moonlight Cruise: It's finally here! Despite the rain delays and date change, the International Moonlight Cruise will start as rescheduled this Friday, October 3rd, at 11 pm until 2 am at 60 Rowes Wharf (in front of the Boston Harbor Hotel). If you haven't already, purchase your tickets at the GSU Link. Ladies, get fabulous. Guys, you too.
4. Kanta at Kalinga: Back for a second round, BU's Filipino Student Association is hosting our Gawad Kalinga charity event of the year, Kanta at Kalinga, on Saturday, October 4th, from 7-9 pm at the Tsai Performance Center. We'll be featuring performances by Ben Mentzer and Ethan Romans of The Click Five, Phunk Phenomenon, Lil' Phunk, Kevin Nadal and more! Special video appearances by ABDC's Kaba Modern and American Idol's Jasmine Trias! And don't forget about Pandanggo and Tinikling performances by your very own BUFSA! To pick up your tickets, learn more about our Kanta at Kalinga, or just say hi, swing by our table at the GSU Link Monday-Friday from 10-4 pm.
Small favor! Since we all know you guys have a facebook (and if you don't, get on it and friend us!), we would appreciate it sooo much if everyone could change their profile pic to the Kanta at Kalinga flyer to help promote the event. The jpeg image is attached to this e-mail. Invite your friends, family, roomies, dormies - everyone!
Questions? Want to volunteer? Contact Carlo Dumandan at carlod@bu.edu.
5. Kamayan Dance Showcase: The day you've all been waiting for! Kamayan, our biggest dance performance of the fall semester, is coming up soon! November 22nd in Boston University's Metcalf Ballroom, to be exact. Home turf! Get pumped! Join us at Sargent Gym (1 University Road) to learn all about Kamayan, preview some hot choreography, and sign up for dances! Everyone is welcome so come down and get in on the action!
Want to learn more? Can't make the date? Hit up your Dance Coordinators, Christian Rivera at r1vera26@bu.edu and Auburn Santo at ausanto@bu.edu.
5. D1's Dance for a Cause: Now let's start warming up our dance moves for Kamayan! District One of FIND and Northeastern's Kinematix Dance Troupe is hosting Dance for a Cause, a three-part master class featuring choreography by Kinematix's Joseph Garcia and BU Fusion's Cristi Dash and Andre de la Cruz. $4 per individual class, $10 for all three.
