Yo yo yo yo,
Unfortunately, due to the fact that many of us will be going home this weekend and that the Fusion workshop coincides with our practice time, we will NOT be having Kamayan practice this weekend. With that being said, for those who will be here in Boston this weekend are encouraged to attend Fusion's dance practice. 2 fantastic choreographers will be teaching (Bryan East of the Boogie Bots and David Arroyo from Fr3sh). Following the Fusion practice (12-4pm) why not get together and share a meal, lets say Warren towers? Yes yes?
Secondly, since Kamayan is only 5 weeks away and that we will not have practice this weekend leaves us with ONLY 4 WEEKS LEFT TO PRACTICE. Everyone needs to be on top of their games and at practices on time and willing to learn. We will be sending out another email next week with the full slate of practices for next weekend.
Lastly, if you are receiving this email and did not sign-up for dances but still want to dance, there is still ample amount of time to join. Also, if you are not in the mood to dance (which is strange in itself) but would like to help out with Kamayan in any other way such as a volunteer, a clapper, someone to help backstage etc. Please feel free to sign up. Dance sign-ups and volunteer sign ups, please shoot an email to your Hawt DCs, Christian Rivera (r1vera26@bu.edu) and Auburn Santo (ausanto@bu.edu). Holler!
Here is the line-up for Kamayan '08
Traditional Set:
Subli (lets say this is the fun loving hat dance)
Tinikling (dance through bamboo polls? familiar?)
Modern Set:
