Welcomes

HELLOOOOOOO BUFSA!!!

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer breaks and ready for a great year! We miss all of you and can't wait to see your lovely faces at the many events we have planned.

First order of business: We would like to announce and extend a warm welcome to your new Rec. Coord. for the 08-09 year: Juan Castro!!!

Scarlet Squad: If you signed up to help the new freshmen move in on Aug 30 and 31, you should have received an email from ORL assigning you to Warren or West Campus. We want to make sure that everyone who signed up got their notifications; if you haven't yet, please contact Leslie Jane Flores (yahh oh ten) at ljflores@bu.edu She is one of the Scarlet Squad Team Captains and organizing that FSA is together. So contact her regarding Scarlet Squad questions.

end of the year annoucements

Hi friends,

First, we'd just like to congratulate FSA for winning the Terrier's Choice award for Student Cultural Student Group of the Year! Each and everyone one of you is an integral part of this club so you should all be so proud of yourselves. Congratulations again everyone!

Secondly, we would like to invite you to take part in a community service project for the Fall. Scarlet Squad, you know.. those people with red shirts who help kids during move-in weekend at the start of school are looking for volunteers. It would be great if FSA could come together and volunteer as a group to help out Scarlet Squad with move in. It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet incoming students, network and let people know about our student organization. Not to mention you get to move into your on-campus dorms as early as Wednesday, August 27th.

The application for volunteers is on the Office of Residence Life's website (http://www.bu.edu/reslife/features/scarletsquad/). All the important info about volunteering is there. It says the application deadline is Wed, May 7th but, hopefully they'll still accept volunteers throughout the summer. Sign up for West Campus or Warren so that we can be assigned to the same general area. If you have any questions, please contact Leslie Jane Flores at ljflores@bu.edu or any member of Eboard If you're interested. Everyone go sign up, it will be fun times for sure!

Third, BUFSA hoodies are now on sale! We know you've seen the Seniors rocking out in them like it's their job and you're totally jealous. Hoodies are $20 and sizes are limited, so please make sure you sign up for one and give an Eboard member your money ASAP. There's a sign-up sheet going around Mugar so make sure you get on that!

Lastly, thank you again everyone for such an incredible year. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did.

Your weekly dose of FSA!

Hello FSA!

A quick thank you to everyone who came out to our first ever FSA
Retreat this past weekend. It was a great success and we hope that
everyone enjoyed themselves. Also, big ups to those who attended
Family Fun Day, despite the fact that there was no sun. We still had
our fun and got our grub on for sure!

Just a reminder that the Last official Family Dinner for this year
will be held in the Academy Room of the GSU on Wednesday, April 30th
at 6:30pm so we hope to see all of you there!

FamiLy Fun Day!

What it do cool peeps?!

I hope that everyone had a blast at Retreat last night and got a full day of rest because tomorrow (Sunday April 27) is FSA's Family Fun Day! It will be at Magazine Beach from 2-4pm. To get there, simply cross the BU Bridge and turn left. We will set up somewhere so just look for us! Food will be provided along with more games / sports. If you have any gaming equipment (balls, gloves, etc) please bring them so we have lots to play with!

ALSO: Keep Friday, May 2 open for Senior Night. Details to come.

Happy Marathon Monday BUFSA! Woop.

Hello BUFSA and Happy Marathon Monday! We hope that everyone has been
enjoying their long weekend! Woop. Now time for some importante
announcements:

1. Family dinner is this Wednesday, April 23rd at the GSU. A group by
the name of Phi Iota Alpha is going to be having their "Walkout" event
on this same day at 5:30pm in BU Central. At this event they will be
showing the HBO exclusive "Walkout" about the Chicano movement in East
L.A. in 1968. In addition, they are having Paula Crisostomo from
California to answer questions about her experience as one of the
vital activists during this movement. FILIPINO FOOD will also be
served! So, for anyone who would like to go, just meet in the lower
level of the GSU by BU Central around 5:30pm. Call JP at 510-427-8330
or MO at 201-873-2325 if you have any questions the day of! We will
stay for the event and have dinner there. It will also be a great way
to show support for other groups on campus!

2. FSA Retreat is THIS FRIDAY, April 25th. If you have not already
sent your BU ID# to MO at mortega@bu.edu or Facebook messaged her,
please do it ASAP. WEDNESDAY WILL BE THE VERY LAST DAY TO HAND IN YOUR
BU ID#s. If we don't have it, then you will not be able to attend the
retreat. So please be sure to do this and pass this information on to
others! This is important!

3. Family Funday is THIS SUNDAY, April 27th at Magazine Beach, time is
TBA. Just save the afternoon for some fun in the sun with your
FamilySA!

Get ready for an excitng weekend everyone!
